Realtors, clients and other industry peers should be careful of their own safety!

A Realtor was assaulted by a client known to her this week in Cary.  He has since been apprehended.  Here is the recent news story:

*** Realtors inspectors, appraisers, and others in our industry are often in a "business as usual" rut.  We often think about our own safety very infrequently.  Ladies, especially, should be aware and should use the buddy system.

1) If you have a client you must meet alone, consider taking a buddy or postponing the meeting.  No income is worth undue risks.
2) Be especially vigilant during an open house where many folks may enter a home in a short period of time.
3) Never enter an unsafe dwelling, attic, crawlspace, or a neglected dwelling without confined space entry training.  CO2, electricity, and other hazards besides clients can cause serious injury or death, too!

Contact a relevant contractor or tradesman, a municipal official, or other competent assistance when needing to enter such a property or area, for your and your client's safety.

Consider a background check on your service providers like the WDIR tech and the home inspector!

Get one for the client if possible!

To obtain a background check for our inspector, contact me directly!  (919) 625-2382 I am glad to provide one, free of charge to any realtor client.

If my schedule allows, I will meet any Triangle Area Realtor on site to "host" a solo meeting at no charge.  Call and let me know and I will come and do paperwork in the truck...
